with the hepatitis C virus (HCV), and it is estimated that there are three to four
million new cases each year. It is expected to grow to US$10.5 billion by 2014.

research activities have identified a class of compounds that cures bovine viral diarrhea
virus (BVDV); recently published findings show that these compounds may have similar activity
against HCV.
